I have been holding onto my leftover cereal boxes for more than a year. I finally found a good use for them before my periodic “I’m not a sad sick hoarder” purge delegated them to the garbage: they make the perfect leaves of a photo album.
I made this album, for long-lost Italian relatives, using amazing paper with classic comic book-esque, World’s Fair-ish illustrative propaganda for New York. Seemed oddly appropriate - all the glorified attraction of New York that was undoubtedly etched into the motivations of so many immigrants as the accompaniment of images of one such branch of family history.
- Adhesive photo corners (I bought clear ones)
- Nylon string or something similar
- A bunch of cereal boxes (matching in size)
- A piece of stiffer/thicker cardboard (for top cover)
- Several sheets of nice, graphic paper
- Big needle with big eye

So my mom told me to record a song for her. She didn’t give specific instructions like what kind of song and she didn’t tell me not to fool around while singing, so there.. now’s my chance to do some impressions

When her twin sons were 1, Maddie Chambers took a college course about “the importance of play”. At the end of the course she had to submit a toy. She started using her Warhammer scenery components and made a little hill with a front door, calling it Bag End. But the project just got bigger and bigger. The result is a complete Bag End “doll house” with nearly EVERYTHING made BY HAND.
